A Rainy Day Engagement Session Full of Magic and Movement
This engagement session turned out to be pure magic.
We met at one of my favorite hidden-gem parks in the Fleming Island area—a quiet, dreamy space with massive oak trees draped in moss, an open field perfect for frolicking (yes, we absolutely frolicked), and a wooden dock tucked into the woods that leads to a peaceful lake.
When we arrived, the skies were gray and a soft drizzle had already started to fall. But rather than rescheduling, these two embraced it—and honestly, it made everything feel even more romantic. There’s something so special about a couple who just leans into the moment and lets their love lead the way, no matter the weather.
We started under the oaks, where the tree cover gave us a bit of shelter and the soft light made every shot feel cozy and intimate. From there, we ran barefoot through the field, twirled in the rain, and ended at the dock as the mist rolled off the lake. It felt like something out of a movie—moody, beautiful, and completely them.
What I love most about rainy sessions is that they slow everything down. The movement becomes more intentional, the laughter a little louder, and the connection even more real. Plus, soft light and moody skies? A photographer’s dream.
To any couple wondering what to do if it rains—my advice? Embrace it. Some of the most heartfelt, cinematic photos come from the most unexpected moments.
